You are invited to become a friend of

Aongatete Outdoor Education Centre

We have between 4-8 Working Bees in a year and we rely on friends of the trust/volunteers to help us. We understand that everyone has busy lives but we maybe able to help in return. Our mission at AOEC is not only to provide opportunities for school and youth groups to learn about and enjoy the N.Z. bush, but also to provide these opportunities to families and individuals in our local community.

We want to give you the opportunity to be part of AOEC, to spend quality time with family and friends, enjoying outdoor activities together, and treasuring what nature has got to offer. We want to foster the love for the outdoors in today’s children and in everyone who is interested, because they are the future guardians of this land and of AOEC.

So to help to support this mission, we are asking you to become Friends of Aongatete Outdoor Education Centre and Lodge. Lend us a hand for up to 4 hours on the working bee days that you can attend. If you have children bring them along and we keep them busy with activities like rock climbing, archery, orienteering, nature walks and learning about the environment through games and activities. We will provide morning tea for everyone and after the working bee a sausage sizzle with plenty of opportunity for family & friends to connect and hanging out together.

If you are interested, please do the following:

  1. Let us know by e-mail so we can send you a registration form and keep in touch with you
  2. Like and follow us on Facebook because that is where you can keep informed and involved about what is happening at Aongatete Outdoor Education Centre
