We are surrounded by native bush in the Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park.  Our primary mission is to provide opportunities for school and youth groups to learn about and enjoy the N.Z. bush, to undertake challenging activities that develop life skills, a positive personal attitude and teamwork.

Vacant time slots may be booked by other groups for workshops, team building, weddings, family get-togethers etc. We have bunk room accommodation for up to 92 people.

Lodge By Pass Track

Work has started on a by-pass track from the public car park to the short loop track which means that when it is complete, the public will no longer be required to walk up the road and passed the lodge, increasing privacy and improving Health and Safety for our clients. The track makes the walk to the water hole and the short loop track a better experience. A successful DoC volunteer day was held on 13 September- see the photos under PHOTOS.

Nature Trail- phase 2

AOEC and Aongatete Forest Project are very happy to announce that further funding ($14,600 +gst) has been secured from the DOC Community Fund to facilitate the establishment of an environmental resource kit for use by teachers and pupils attending the lodge. WATCH THIS SPACE!
