We are surrounded by native bush in the Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park.  Our primary mission is to provide opportunities for school and youth groups to learn about and enjoy the N.Z. bush, to undertake challenging activities that develop life skills, a positive personal attitude and teamwork.

Vacant time slots may be booked by other groups for workshops, team building, weddings, family get-togethers etc. We have bunk room accommodation for up to 92 people.

UPDATE 1 NOVEMBER 2017---Lodge By Pass Track

Most of the work has been completed on a by-pass track from the public car park to the short loop track which means that the public will no longer be required to walk up the road and past the lodge, increasing privacy and improving Health and Safety for our clients. The track makes the walk to the N/S track and water hole and the short loop track a better experience. A successful DoC volunteer day was held on 13 September and 18 October- see the photos under PHOTOS.Thanks to DoC and especially to Warren Gerraghty whose skills are much appreciated.

UPDATE 1 NOVEMBER 2017 ---Nature Trail- phase 2

AOEC and Aongatete Forest Project are very happy to announce that the environmental educational resource kit for use by teachers and pupils attending the lodge is now in place and will be available in the New Year once it has been trialed. See the Teacher Notes here. Thanks to Kate Graeme and Ann Graeme and House of Science for all the time and expertise put in.
